I can see your point here. I loevd it once when Kiri te Kanawa was supposed to be etlevised live to viewers from the Holmenkollen Ski Jump (don't ask) in Oslo, and I was in the audience sat outsode int he summer evening -- and the telelink or whatever broke down: She said, So now I will be singing only to you (an audience of I dunno, 500?)
I loved that. Even that she had caught cold from the air conditioning on the flight from New Zealand and clutched this dramatic shawl to her throat-- Mia babbino caro -- to us only-- a once in a lifetime concert--wow!
